Lotus Cup UK Supersport

Points will be awarded to Competitors listed as classified finishers in the Final Results as follows:
1st - 30, 2nd - 25, 3rd - 22, 4th - 19, 5th - 17, 6th – 15, 7th - 14, 8th - 13, 9th – 12, 10th – 11, 11th - 10, 12th – 9, 13th – 8, 14th – 7, 15th – 6, 16th – 5, 17th – 4, 18th – 3, 19th - 2, 20th - 1.

The competitor setting the fastest lap in qualifying (pole) will score two (2) additional points.  These points will be awarded to all competitors registered in the car for that race meeting.

The competitor setting the fastest lap in each race will score two (2) additional points.  These points will be awarded to all competitors registered in the car for that race meeting.

A bonus of 20 points will be awarded to every competitor entering the overseas round and starting the race at that round regardless of which championship (Lotus Cup Production, Lotus on Track Elise Trophy or Lotus Cup SuperSport) they compete in.

A bonus of 20 points will be awarded to every competitor who enters all championship rounds.

The total 2016 Lotus Cup Championship plus any bonus points less the competitors lowest scoring race will determine total Championship points.  For the avoidance of doubt it is the lowest scoring individual race score that will be dropped therefore if there are 13 races over 8 race weekends the top 12 race scores plus any bonus points will count towards the championship total.

Ties shall be resolved using the formula in the 2016 MSA Yearbook W.1.3.4.

Lotus Cup is a drivers championship. It is permitted for two drivers to accumulate points scored by a single vehicle during a race meeting provided that they are classified.  Where an event consists of multiple races and two drivers are entered to take part the total points for all races including any fastest lap, starting, pole position and any points will be applied to the championship total of both drivers.

Competitors will not be entitled to score Championship Points if they only participate in the 2016 Lotus Cup Championship in the last round or the penultimate round (or both). These cars will be ‘invisible’ with respect to Championship points. These competitors will be required to register for the Championship and will be subject to a pro-rata registration fee.
