We are thrilled to have Mads Petersen back with us for the 2018 Elise Trophy Championship.
Mads struggled in 2017 in his new car and was only able to make 5 rounds with his best race result in the final round 8 at Snetterton with a P11 in race 2.
We caught up with Mads to find out about his new target for 2018.
"Last season was a bit of a struggle as I was in a new car not fully set up to my liking. By round 8 at Snetterton, I finally felt that we had made progress with the setup and achieved a good result. The plan for this season is to try to be more constant in the top 10 and then see what I can do from there. "
When did you start racing?
I did a couple of races at the end of the 2013 season in an arrive and drive package and then had my first full season in 2014 in my own car which was a standard Lotus Elise 111S.
What is it you enjoy about racing?
What's not to enjoy ;)
What car / team are you racing for this season?
I am in the no 55 Elise 111R which SO Motorsport built for me for last season. It took me a little while to get used to it as I came from the K-Series but by the end of the season it felt pretty good.
What are your ambitions for this season?
To have fun and finish top 10.
What advice would you give to people wanting to start racing?
I did a season of sprinting before I went on to circuit racing. This was a good and cheap introduction to motorsport.
Do you want to mention / thank any sponsors or partners?
I would like to thank Simon and the team at SO Motorsport for the support over the last few years.
